Objectives:


1.     To review risk factors and pathophysiology of thrombosis in patients with malignancy.  Appropriate Investigation and diagnosis of thrombosis.  Discuss evidence based approach to treatment of deep vein thrombosis in cancer patients.

2.     Review the Canadian Clinical Practice Guidelines for the screening of breast and colorectal cancers. Discuss the role of family physicians/GPOs in breast and colorectal screening application of fecal immunochemical test(FIT) and mammography/magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) in cancer screening.

3.     Discussion of whole person cancer care model.  Review the benefits of early integration of oncology, psychosocial and palliative care teams in the trajectory of the cancer journey.  Consider challenges and opportunities for integrating palliative and supportive care in cancer centres.

4.     Increase knowledge of systemic therapy related toxicities Promote integration of family physicians/GPOs and oncologists in the joint management of cancer patients
